Athena The Owl

In Green mythology, Athena is the goddess of wisdom, and she is often accompanied by a small owl. I was inspired by this and named this piece 'Athena.'

An incredible statement necklace, this owl was completely hand-fabricated in fine and sterling silver with some of Earth's most incredible gems and gifts. The owl's face is carved from buffalo bone, which is ethically sourced from Indonesia (think of the Native American idea of using every part of the animal), the wings are gem silica with the most incredible browns, blues, and whites. Her body is a carved labradorite teardrop with the entire rainbow spectrum represented. She has a hidden tube bail in back and is finished on 18 inches of oxidized sterling cable chain with a hand-forged hook and eye clasp.
